No summer would be complete without a visit (or two) to Nardini's. This is possibly the best known cafe in Scotland - and definitely has the best ice cream and fancy cakes. It's in Largs -- which also happens to be my favourite seaside town. It's a typical Scottish seaside town, hardly changing over the years which is part of its attraction.
